Insurance touches nearly every part of the marijuana arena from seed to sale. As more states move to legalize marijuana, despite its illegality on the federal level, insurers, their agents, and their claim staff are ill-equipped to deal with this emerging market. The duality of legality has many insurers hesitant to enter the marketplace both for property and liability claims. This presentation will discuss marijuana from the insurance claims point of view, which is after the accident occurred and when everyone is trying to pick up the pieces from the loss.
